The GLPC has a servitude from Wisner for an area north of the Flotation Canal, used to mitigate impacts to 122.44 acres of saline marsh during the Northern Expansion's Phase I. Approximately 710 acres of marsh were constructed in an area that was previously open water. Mitigation Areas A and B were completed in 2001 and 2003, with at least 80% vegetative cover remaining. Mitigation Area C was filled by late 2010.
